Film & Digital Media Arts

Film and Digital Media Arts
Associate of Art

Thank you for your interest in Northern New Mexico College's Film & Digital Media Arts program.

Film & Digital Media Arts @Northern provides students the opportunity to make films, write screenplays, do sound design and photography, and digital images for print, web, and video. Students gain hands-on experience in professional production environments, learning teamwork and work ethic. Students explore television, narrative and documentary filmmaking with an emphasis on personal expression.

Filmmaking skills are applicable in all fields today. Students are encouraged to explore the connections between filmmaking and other career paths—whether nursing, science, teaching, business or the humanities.

Northern’s film faculty are accomplished film professionals dedicated to student artistic expression and developing technical proficiency in the digital media arts to give students a competitive edge in many career paths.
Our courses have a low faculty to student ratio, where students develop strong relationships with faculty as mentors and with peers as creative partners.
