Computer Literacy

Overview of computer hardware, software, and the Windows or Linux environment. You
will cover basic computer operating principles, file management, the using the Internet,
along with an introduction to word processors, spreadsheets, and database programs.

Traditional Spanish Retablo Painting

Retablos are devotional paintings of religious figures on wood panels. This course,
taught by Rose Price, will include researching the history and the study of traditional
retablos and artists.
- Drawing religious figures (saints)
- Practice using watercolors to paint figures
- Learning the use of gesso (commercial or homemade)
- The study of natural pigments (organic and Inorganic)
- Preparing wood panels for painting
- Painting a retablo with natural pigments
- Varnishing a completed painted panel with (commercial or homemade varnishes)
FREE Basic Wildland Fire Training
April 21, 22, 23, 24 + 28
Monday through Thursday + the following Monday (No class Friday)

Fee: FREE *May require a $50 deposit to hold enrollment.
Required: An assessment must be taken through Workforce Solutions that will be provided on
campus. Date of assessment is still pending.
The program involves the integration of Information technology to support the management
and suppression of wildfires. This includes the use of Geographic Information Systems
(GIS) for mapping and tracking fire progression, real-time data collection from drones
and satellites for situational awareness, communication systems for coordinating response
efforts and predictive modeling to anticipate fire behavior. These technological tools
enhance decision- making, improve safety for firefighters and increase the efficiency
and effectiveness of firefighting operations. Offered by NM Dept. of Workforce Solutions.
