Language, Letters & Liberal arts is a central part of your education here at Northern, where you will take key General Education courses focused on writing and research skills, public speaking, literature, and creative writing. We will help you master these essential communication and creative skills so you can excel in your college courses, in your chosen field and in life long learning.
Trickster Literary Journal
Our unique literary Journal, Trickster, features poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and art from Northern students, staff, faculty and artists from our community and greater New Mexico. Trickster is edited and designed by a student editorial team.
National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month! Northern's Language & Letters sponsors a celebration every year at the Ben Lujan Library. Students are also invited to engage the campus community by writing chalk poetry on the walkways around campus.
