The Office of Equity & Diversity works with the College community to sponsor events on campus to educate, inspire and engage our students, faculty, staff and the greater community.

President's statement on Equity & Diversity at Northern

At Northern, each of us holds the responsibility to promote equity and to respect the diversity of our community. As we transition through administrative changes — we simply cannot assume an office or director of an office holds the sole responsibility for maintaining a safe, vibrant and meaningful culture in which all of us can thrive.

We are, each of us in many ways, advocates for equity and diversity. Throughout the spring term, we will be offering opportunities for deeper conversations and learning more about how we create and sustain an equitable and diverse campus.

Respectfully,
Dr. Bárbara M. Medina
