The Child Development Certificate (CDC) program requirements include the completion of the four (4) identified courses in early childhood
education. Upon successful completion of these courses, the student will be able to
apply for the state-issued certificate.
The Early Childhood Education (ECED) program is a stackable program. A student can progress from CDC to AA to BA. The program’s coursework is focused on the social and developmental needs of young
students ranging from age three to third grade. This competency-based program is aligned
to the New Mexico’s Early Childhood Education & Development Articulation Catalog of
Courses and Programs (2020).
Admission to the Child Development Certificate Program (CDC)
In order to be accepted into the CDC Certificate Program, the teacher candidate must
be admitted to NNMC and have official transcripts from all colleges sent to the Office
of Admissions.
