As part of our celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) is thrilled to announce that six of our current students and three alumni were selected among the 11 recipients of this year’s Mana del Norte Scholarships. These prestigious scholarships were awarded at the Mana del Norte Annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon, held on September 21, 2024, at the Cities of Gold Hotel in Pojoaque, NM.
Mana del Norte, a chapter of MANA, A National Latina Organization, has been a beacon of empowerment for Latinas in Northern New Mexico since its founding in 1989. For 35 years, the organization has uplifted women through education, community service, leadership development, and advocacy, helping to create better opportunities for Latinas across the region.
The Mana del Norte Scholarship Program is one of the chapter's most notable initiatives, offering financial assistance to Latina students to help them achieve their educational goals. Beyond the scholarships, MANA del Norte fosters a strong sense of community and support, bringing together women from all walks of life to inspire and empower one another.
This year’s recipients from NNMC represent a variety of fields, including nursing, biology, business, education, and criminal justice. The students who were honored include:

In addition to our current students, three NNMC alumni were also recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to their communities:

We are incredibly proud of these outstanding scholars and their dedication to their education and their communities. Their achievements are a testament to the transformative power of education and the strength of Latina leadership in our region.
