Student Research: Española GloveWorks

Northern New Mexico College engineering students and Española Valley High School’s (EVHS) Math, Engineering, Science Application (MESA) program are applying the engineering skills they are learning to a project that could significantly improve the lives of Parkinson’s patients. Under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Steve Cox and EVHS teachers Janice Patal-e and Lyne Salero, the students are working to develop a glove that sends electrical impulses through the nerves to alleviate symptoms of the disease.

Northern Students Awarded N3B Scholarships

Newport News Nuclear BWXT-Los Alamos, LLC (N3B) has announced the recipients of its 2025 Danny Nichols and Dennis Huddleston Memorial Scholarship. Two Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) students, Atalia Archuleta and Jaide Romero, are among the recipients, along with Paul Alcazar, who is pursuing a degree in chemistry from University of New Mexico-Los Alamos (UNM-LA).

NNMC Students Excel at a Trades Bootcamp

Four Northern New Mexico College trades students made us shine during a Trades Culture Bootcamp at Western Colorado University! Luka Torrez, George Lopez, Mario Perez and Edwardo Martinez got the opportunity to practice the skills they have been learning in Northern’s Electrical Technology program as well as new construction techniques helping to build a solar powered gazebo that will let WCU students study outdoors in comfort.
