Work Study Positions Available

Work Study is a financial aid program that allows students to work on-campus or with approved off-campus employers to earn money to help pay for college. Work-Study is not automatically included in a student's financial aid package; Financial Aid will need to determine if you are eligible.

Job Title: Editorial Assistant
Department Name: Communications & Marketing (NCAM)

Description:

The Editorial Assistant in Communications & Marketing works closely with the Creative Director and Staff Writer on a variety of administrative, editorial and creative projects, including working on The Weekly Eagle Newsletter, managing the college webchat, email and team and other creative support projects.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Creative Director in organizing creative & marketing projects.
  • Assist with story research, editing and production of The Weekly Eagle newsletter in our Constant Contact e-marketing program.
  • Managing our webchat program, shift calendar, and training chat staffers.
    Liaison with Recruitment to be sure they are supplied with market materials.
  • Maintaining billboards and brochure racks.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

Minimum qualifications:

Must be awarded FEDERAL Work study through Northern’s Financial Aid Office.

Description:

General office work to assist Admission and Recruitment staff.

Duties include: Answering phones, assisting students and public at the counter, filing, updating information, opening and date stamping mail, stuffing envelopes, create academic folder for enrolled students. Various other duties as they arise.

Description:

Applicant will be assisting staff in a variety of office procedures. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and have excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and experience working on a computer and multi-line phone system is a plus.

Duties include: Answering phones, assisting students at the counter with basic questions and financial aid information. May scan forms and enter them into the computer.

Applicant will be assisting all Office of the Registrar staff in a variety of office procedures and responsibilities. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and must get along well with people. Job Title: Gym employee
Department Name: HPER
Hourly Rate: $13

Description:

This job would require students to supervise the front desk, take temperatures, provide questionnaires, and keep track of people who have entered the building. Person would occasionally need to supervise weight room as well as cardio fitness room. Person would need to frequently wipe down equipment and keep facility clean. Occasional laundry duties would also be a part of the job.

If selected, be able to check people into gym, take temperatures, provide a questionnaire, as well as be able to help keep the facility clean. Person would be capable of wiping down equipment, supervising weight room as well as cardio fitness room. Employee would be able to work between the hours of 8am-12 Pm or 12 pm -5 PM. Employee would be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Employees would need person relation skills as well as be able to handle situations with health and safety concerns during COVID.
