Strategic Enrollment Management

NORTHERN has a Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) committee comprised of the following offices: Registrar, Recruitment/Admissions, Student Services, Academic Support, Financial Aid, Advisement, Faculty and Institutional Research.

Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) is an institution-wide responsibility and the central focus of the institution’s overall strategic plan. SEM focuses on what is best for students and ways to ensure student success while addressing all aspects of the institution’s mission.

Just like overall strategic planning, strategic enrollment management starts with the institution’s mission.

The SEM committee is currently monitoring the progress of our First Year Retention efforts, recruitment, and new student orientation. The committee developed Process Charts of the departments/services involved in the student experience.

This committee also provided oversight and coordination for the “Defining and Developing Comprehensive First Year Retention Plan” Action Project.

Northern offers over 50 bachelor's, associate and certificate programs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math); Nursing and Health Sciences; Liberal Arts and Humanities; Arts, Film & Media; Business Administration; Teacher Education and Technical Trades.
