We are currently offering three IET programs.

Two of our IET programs, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Electric Certificate of Technical Trades (Electrical Technology), are funded through a Workforce Integration Network (WIN) grant that provide stipends for participants. WIN programs are open to unemployed or underemployed adults or adults looking to skill up and get a good paying job with benefits. Participants can earn college credit as they work toward their High School Equivalency (HSE) certificate and receive a stipend for their participation.Our Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program, offered through the Nursing and Health Sciences Department, prepares students for entry level employment in the healthcare field as a Nurse Aide. Upon successful completion of this program, you will meet all federal certification standards for a nurse aide and be prepared to sit for the New Mexico Nurse Aide certification exams. Nurse Aides, sometimes called nursing assistants, provide basic care for patients/residents in hospitals and long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes. Class credits apply toward an Associate of Applied Science in Allied Health should you wish to continue your studies.

Our Technical Trades Department is offering an Electric Certificate of Technical Trades. The program provides the core skills required for positions in residential and commercial construction, building maintenance, municipal government operations, and quasi- government utility entities such as power companies. New Mexico Workforce Connection has forecast more than an 11% growth in industry positions in the next few years in New Mexico alone, with more than 6,600 jobs directly related to these trades.

The third IET program is Wildland Fire Fighting. The program involves the integration of Information technology to support the management and suppression of wildfires. This includes the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and tracking fire progression, real-time data collection from drones and satellites for situational awareness, communication systems for coordinating response efforts and predictive modeling to anticipate fire behavior. These technological tools enhance decision- making, improve safety for firefighters and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of firefighting operations.
