Northern's College of Business Accredited

ACSBP_Approved_cleanupEspañola, NM - The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) has awarded Northern New Mexico College accreditation of its baccalaureate business programs.

"This decision shows that Northern's business program is  of a quality equal to and as rigorous as those at other schools," College of Business Administration Dean Lori Baca said. "We have graduated over 200 students with bachelor's degrees in business, all of whom helped us get to this point."

The accreditation applies to The College of Business Administration's Bachelor's degrees in Accounting, Management, and Project Management. Northern's associate-level business degrees have been accredited by ACBSP since 1995.

"Northern New Mexico College has shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process," ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer Steve Parscale, said. This accreditation is evidence that Northern New Mexico College is committed to providing the highest quality business education for their students."

Based on the criteria of the National Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award, ACBSP accreditation evaluates aspects of the institutional leadership, strategic planning processes, relationships with the community, quality of academic programs, faculty credentials and services, and educational support to determine whether or not the institution offers a rigorous educational experience and demonstrates continuous quality improvement.

Baccalaureate business degrees at New Mexico Highlands, Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico are also accredited by ACBSP.

The College of Business Administration will receive the Certificate of Initial Accreditation for these programs at the ACBSP Conference 2015 in Philadelphia June 14.
