10/15/2024 11:46:18 AMNorthern New Mexico College (NNMC) is proud to announce the launch of the Center for Information Technology and Cybersecurity, a groundbreaking initiative designed to equip the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. In partnership with Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), this new center will offer state-of-the-art training and degree programs in cybersecurity, preparing students for high-demand careers in protecting critical digital infrastructure. Set to begin in fall 2025, NNMC’s cybersecurity program will offer a four-year degree program along with professional development opportunities, addressing a growing need for skilled cybersecurity professionals in New Mexico and beyond. The center will provide hands-on training in safeguarding organizations from cyber threats and will prepare students for a wide range of roles, including forensic analysts, information security engineers, and more. The creation of this center was made possible through $376,675 in funding from the National Nuclear Security Administration's Pipeline Development Program, which will support essential resources such as a faculty director, specialized software and hardware, and outreach activities aimed at fostering interest in cybersecurity careers.Milam Shah
