Moving Arts Española Presents $1,000 Check

The Northern Foundation is the grateful recipient of funds generated by our friends at Moving Arts Española (MAE).

The film La Casa Linda, a documentary film about disability and independence, profiles the life of Linda Pedro, beloved community disability rights activist and former resident of Chimayo, NM. The local premiere at MAE served as a fundraiser for the Linda Pedro Memorial scholarship fund to help NNMC art and fashion wedding dress students pursue their dream of a college degree at Northern New Mexico College.

"Linda proved that in the face of adversity, we can still craft a life of exuberant activism," Roger Montoya of Moving Arts Española said.

NNMC Fine Arts Department Chair Dr. David Garcia was on hand to help accept the check.

Thank you Moving Arts Española!
