New Mexico Educational Opportunity Center

The New Mexico Educational Opportunity Center (NMEOC) is a federally funded project to extend post-secondary education opportunities to adults who are low income and first generation college bound. One of 139 projects throughout the U.S, the NMEOC has served over 65,000 clients in ten north-central New Mexico counties for 35 years.

EOC provides the following services:

  • Information about available grants, scholarships, and loans
  • Information about technical/vocational schools, colleges and universities
  • Educational, financial and career advisement
  • Assistance with forms and compiling information to apply for admissions, financial aid and scholarships
  • Help in registering for required examinations or other entrance tests
  • Referral and to GED programs
  • Campus visits

Who will EOC help?

  • EOC is funded to assist low income adults
  • EOC provides its services free of charge
  • EOC has no money for educational funds, but helps in locating sources of financial aid for its participants
