Dr. Beverly Singer is an Associate Professor Emerita of Anthropology (Ethnology) and Native American Studies at the University of New Mexico. Now retired, she held the directorship of the Alfonso Ortiz Center for Intercultural Studies at UNM.

She will be discussing her recent work which is positioned in two places Santa Clara Pueblo and New York. She will talk about indigenous approaches to filmmaking both as a practitioner as well as a respected scholar. She is the author of various books including the 2001 text, Wiping the War Paint Off the Lens: Native American Film and Video. Minneapolis: The University of Minnesota Press.
