Northern's Office of Equity and Diversity and the Gay/Straight Alliance invite you to join us for a weekend of celebrating Inclusive Communities in the Española Valley! Orgullo, Unity, Creativity and Community are our traditions!

Kick off the weekend by joining us for the highly-acclaimed 2014 film written and directed by Sydney Freeland depicting the coming of age stories of three genders on the Navajo reservation.

6-7 pm - Gay/Straight Alliance Reception
7 pm – Screening of Drunktown’s Finest

Screening will be followed by Q&A panel of Cast and Crew members including Sydney Freeland. Please join us for this special event. Free and open to public.

12:00 - 1:00 Community Mural Dedication – Acknowledging the New Mexico Community Foundation and the Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area with names of 75 community members
1:00 – 3:00 Communal Lunch Youth Performances
2:30 – 5:00 Youth Healing Circles, led by Arianne Malmud Ghazi. This Santa Fe based Afghanistan native: elementary, preteen and young adults circles: trauma, violence and grieving; art installation to follow.
