On July 16, 2016, the Northern Foundation and NNMC hosted Congressman Ben Ray Lujan and the Healthy Communities Forum: a conversation about substance use and mental health issues in northern New Mexico.

Over 150 community members representing 6 counties in northern New Mexico participated in the event that featured an Open Space dialogue format.

Eight topics were explored in depth: Crisis Response, Care Coordination, Data Capturing, Children and Youth Services, Workforce Development, Family Support, Recovery Support, Justice/Jail Diversion.

Dozens of volunteers from NNMC and the greater community helped make the event possible. Look for a report from the Congressman’s office soon on the findings and possible next steps.
