The mission of the American Indian Center (AIC) is to create a safe and empowering learning environment that prepares Native students to contribute to their well-being and that of their respective communities. The AIC includes the American Indian Affairs Office (AIA), Northern Pueblos Institute  (NPI), Pueblo Indian Studies Department (PIS) and the American Indian Student Organization (AISO).

The AIC Advisory Board includes representatives from the Eight Northern Pueblos, current students, Northern alumni, faculty in Pueblo Indian Studies, and community partners. The role of the Board is to provide input regarding the direction of the AIC's programming, to share information among Indian education stakeholders and assist with the content of Pueblo Indian studies courses.
