ROSARIO (CHAYO) GARCIA
Term: 01.01.2012 –

Ms. Garcia previously served as a member of the Board of Regents from 2002 to 2007. She is a successful businesswoman in the City of Española. Her family formerly owned Anthony's at the Delta Inn, restaurant and flower shop. Ms Garcia served as a City Councilor of the city of Española. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration/Marketing in 1985 from New Mexico State University.

ALFRED J. HERRERA

Mr. Herrera received his M.A. degree from the University of Phoenix in Organizational Management. He currently serves as City Councilor for the City of Española, New Mexico.

DONALD MARTINEZ Jr.
Term: 02.01.2014 –

Regent Martinez was born and raised on a family farm and ranch in El Rito, NM. Upon high school graduation he obtained both a BS and Masters Degree.  Education and agriculture has been his passion for his entire career. Teaching the importance of agriculture to his two daughters is his favorite passtime. Assisting him in this endeavor is his lovely wife, parents and his two brothers.

KEVIN F. POWERS
Term: 02.01.2014 –

Mr. Powers is a retired investment banker with 30 years of experience financing public projects, primarily in New Mexico. His experience includes advising school districts on bond elections, financing facilities and dormitories for universities, developing large regional water projects, and assisting cities and counties with infrastructure development.  He plans to utilize this extensive experience in public finance to advance the financial position of NNMC.  Mr. Powers earned a BS degree in economics from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA.

MICHAEL P. BRANCH
Term: 01.01.2009 – 12.31.2014

Mr. Branch is a College of Santa Fe graduate and owner of Branch Realty in Santa Fe since 1976. Mr. Branch was a student at Northern New Mexico Normal School in El Rito in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. “The visions and dreams planted and nurtured by our founders, leaders and stakeholders have become a reality.”

Ms. Montes is studying education and plays on Northern's women's basketball team.

HARDEV SINGH KHALSA (MICHAEL McGOWAN)
Term: 02.01.2014 – 12.31.2014

Hardev Singh Khalsa was born and raised in Memphis. He is a member of the the Sikh community, manager of the Chocolate Maven bakery and cafe in Santa Fe, international kundalini yoga teacher, professional musician, and a proud NNMC eagle. He is pursuing his undergraduate degree in psychology, and plans to continue toward a doctorate in clinical psychology and establish a private psychology practice, incorporating yogic technology as an alternative mode of therapy.
