Northern New Mexico College has awarded $16,000 in fellowships to support employees seeking advanced degrees.

The 2014-2015 Northern Fellowship is a program funded by the College's Title V ÉXITO grant, which supports faculty and staff pursuing graduate education at the masters or doctoral level. Each fellow will continue to receive a scholarship to cover the cost of tuition for the next two years. The Fellowship Selection Committee, comprised of Northern faculty and staff, met and selected the following recipients:

Tony Gallegos, Assistant Director of Recruitment and Career Services
Pursuing a Masters in Higher Education & Administrative Leadership at Adam's State University

Amy Ortiz, Library Cataloger
Pursuing a Masters degree in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University

David Lindblom, Creative Director of Canal Seis and FDMA Faculty
Pursuing a MFA in Creative Writing (Screenwriting emphasis) at the Institute of American Indian Arts

Deondra Rodriguez, Admissions Specialist
Pursuing a MBA in Project Management online with Colorado State University Global Campus

Barbara Bustos, Educational Opportunity Center Director
Pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at University of New Mexico

Each application was judged on several merits including alignment with the ÉXITO grant goals and objectives, alignment with the College's mission, and personal statement and commitment to continued service at Northern.
