Northern Eagle Spirit Program

The NNMC Spirit Program is currently seeking potential cheerleaders, dancers and mascots for the upcoming academic school year. Members of the competitive Spirit Program will help to promote school spirit on campus while supporting NNMC athletics and volunteering in and around the community. The goal of the program is to create an exciting environment for all Eagle fans by cheering, dancing and entertaining. Members of the Spirit Program will also serve as ambassadors of NNMC and will assist with events on and off campus.

All Northern Spirit Program team members will be expected to conduct themselves in a proper manner (no violence, alcohol, drugs, etc.), and in accordance with all National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Association of Independent Institutions (AII) Conference, American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA) and NNMC rules and regulations.

Spirit Program team members must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA to be eligible to participate. Spirit Program Team Members will also be required to undergo a physical examination from their family physician.

This summer, the Spirit Program will be hosting open gym/practice for all perspective Spirit Program team members. Open Gym will be used for workouts and to learn material which will be performed at games including stunts, pyramids, dances, cheers and tumbling. Open gym will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm starting on June 23. Open gym will be held on the NNMC gymnasium (follow the signs). Anyone interested in coming to open gym must wear appropriate workout clothing (no jeans) and gym shoes. Please note, attending open gym does not mean you have officially made the team but does assist in prepping perspective cheerleaders, dancers and mascots for tryouts which will be held during the fall semester. All perspective Spirit Program team members are strongly encouraged to attend.

For overall program questions, please email coach Leo Jaramillo or assistant coach Brandi Cordova (EagleSpirit@nnmc.edu).
