Accessibility Resource Center - Office Assistant

Description: General administrative duties which include: answering the telephone and responding courteously to the caller with informed answers to their questions and ability to assist or refer to the proper agency within the Department and the College. Greet visitors with courteous and quick assistance to provide registration assistance for College or GED Exam(s), or directions and referrals to the proper director within the Department or referral to the proper agency within the college. Assist with scheduling for students and administration of the GED testing as a proctor on most Tuesday and Thursdays. Assist the Special Needs Director with large print publications for students and administering and scheduling. Maintain confidentiality and security of records handled. Working towards a degree in the Business filed and or Counseling field.

America Reads - Reading & Math Tutors

Job Title: Math & Reading Tutors (k-12 grade)

Description:

Providing tutoring and supervision of reading participants in afterschool program. Must assist mentoring program staff in providing reading services to youth ages 5 -13. Must be able to track and assist in keeping files of youth assisted and their progress. Must be willing to clean up their designated area of workplace. Must assist in ordering of or providing materials for reading participants.

Minimum qualifications:

Must be awarded FEDERAL Work study through Northern’s Financial Aid Office.

Biology Department - Lab Assistant

Description: Student employee(s) will assist lab technicians in preparing Chemistry and Biology Labs. Cleaning labs after students have run experiments, washing counter tops and tables in the labs. Student employee(s) will wash all glassware, maintaining fish tanks, and cultures in Biology Lab. Assisting lab techs in maintaining green house, organizing stockroom, cleaning display cases and cabinets. Will take inventory of chemicals and supplies and student employee(s) will answer phones. Student must have computer skills

Eagle Cafe - Cashier

Job Title: Cashier

Description: Operates a cash register, receives payments of cash, checks and charges from customers for goods or services, making change and issuing receipts or tickets to customers. Maintains proper security of cash. Sets up stations with condiments and utensils, serves and replenishes food from counters and breaks down stations at the end of the meal period. Cleans and maintains work areas, including floors, facilities, utensils, and equipment, collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers. Attends to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies; detects and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Description: Will be required to assist students with their student Id. Proper verification and processing to obtain a student Id for the current term. Using Banner system to maintain and update student’s degree for Id processing. Cleaning and proper arrangement of the Student Lounge area. Must be available to work on Saturdays if needed for certain events (Basketball games, etc.) Will need to have great customer service skills in assisting new and current students along with the community. Must be available to work evening hours.

Library Aide - Ben Lujan Library

Description: Shelving books, processing new books, inventory maintenance, processing library materials, maintain circulation, light housekeeping, and various other library duties as they arise. Assist patrons with searching for books and online information. Assist patrons with logging into computers and basic computer troubleshooting. Assist patrons with Xerox machine components and printing documents. Check books in and out using library operational software. Shiftin books to make room for new materials.

Operations & Maintenance - Grounds Keeper

Minimum qualifications: Able to operate properly and safely with various power tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to use hand tools and have knowledge in the field
