Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) is a public two-year and four-year degree granting institution founded in 1909 by the New Mexico Constitution. NNMC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. NNMC operates from two campuses in Espanola and El Rito and serves an average of 1,000 students per semester. Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position with a contract starting January 2018.
The College of Engineering and Technology offers Bachelor degrees in Electromechanical Engineering Technology and Information Engineering Technology, Associate of Engineering degrees in Information Engineering Technology, Pre-Engineering and Software Engineering along with Certificate programs.
JOB DUTIES: Develop, prepare and teach Electromechanical Engineering Technology courses, as well as develop and maintain laboratories and facilities in the Mechatronics area. More specifically, the successful candidate will be required to develop and teach undergraduate courses in Robotics, Manufacturing processes and automation, Electromechanical Design, Controls and Instrumentation, Senior Design projects or other related subjects in Mechatronics. Some of the other areas of responsibility include advising, assessment, participation in scholarly activities, as well as serving on college committees.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master Degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D.; experience in ABET accreditation processes; teaching experience or industry training experience in the following areas:
- Robotic systems (Fanuc)
- Siemen’s Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Manufacturing and machining processes (CNC machines) and automation
- Electromechanical or mechatronics systems design and instrumentations.
- Ability to teach other courses in solar energy concentration such as Photovoltaic Devices, Solar Thermal Applications and Energy Storage
SALARY: Based on credentials and experience.
